Tisshaws retain Law Society’s Gold Standard Mark of Quality for the 10th year running

We are proud to announce that Tisshaws has retained Lexcel accreditation for the 10th year running. Lexcel is the Law Society’s mark of quality awarded to legal practices attaining the highest standards in both client care and practice management. Only 16% of English and Welsh solicitors achieve this.

Since the firm was first established by Gilva Tisshaw in 2012, Tisshaws has been awarded Lexcel accreditation every year, meaning our clients can feel confident they will receive an exceptionally high level of service and care when they instruct us.

We are especially proud that we have been able to support our clients to the same high standards we are known for, despite the ongoing disruption caused by the pandemic. We have also strengthened our commitment to non-court resolution of the issues arising from family breakdown. This helps our clients to avoid the costs, stress, and lengthy time scales of taking their issues to court.

All six of our solicitors are members of Resolution, an organisation committed to resolving family breakdown with the least amount of conflict possible. Three are Specialist Resolution members with specific expertise in Private Children and Complex Financial Remedy, across all household income brackets.

We also remain committed to helping a diverse and inclusive range of clients. To help overcome the perception that legal help is prohibitively expensive and to help as many people as possible, Tisshaws offer new clients an initial one-hour meeting for a fixed fee of £50 (incl. VAT), with no obligation. Very few firms offer this. While some may offer a 30-minute free appointment, we do not consider this offers sufficient time to discuss a client’s specific issues and background.

At the other end of the spectrum, our legal expertise means we are regularly instructed in complex financial divorce cases involving multiple properties, investments, pensions, businesses, and tax issues often including cross-border jurisdictions. Many of these cases involve assets of considerable value and over the past year, a significant number of cases have involved assets ranging between £2-7 million.

Alongside this work, Tisshaws’ reputation for empathy and compassion, means that many cases involve issues around the safeguarding of children; allegations of physical, sexual, and mental abuse, as well as cases involving people with alcohol/drug dependences, poor mental health, and physical disabilities.

“I am so proud of my hard-working team,” said Gilva Tisshaw. “Our focus is always on getting the best possible outcomes for our clients and their families and the whole team always go above and beyond to ensure a positive result.”
